    Yeah, I saw that at B&N yesterday, and wondered what could possibly be in it that wouldn’t be in the D&D rule books? (But did I bother to take it down from the shelf and look through it? No, that would have been the sensible thing to do!)

    I flipped through it at Borders; it’s really D20 instructional and doesn’t delve into any history. I think there’s a paragraph in there about The Forgotten Realms, otherwise I believe you might get more from just buying the rulebooks.
